Theme of unrequited love
I've just been researching into some of the results of unrequited love and if there are any major stories in the news at the moment; as the serious consequences and results of the unrequited love in 'Hippolytus'strikes a chord with me. To me personally love is meant to be something beautiful that brings happiness, however, we all know that isn't always the case. The fact that Phaedra thinks it would be better to kill herself rather than express her love (although dangerous) I think is heartbreaking, love should lead to new life not make you end your own.
